The idea for button loop that “grows” from a cable was born about a year and a half ago. It was waiting to be used until a few days ago I took yarn and needles and made this quick little vest. I needed something small to wear under a summer jacket on colder days and this is perfect for it.
I used Rowan Kid Classic which is a mohair blend, but not too soft. The garment keeps its shape and is great for all sorts of stitch patterns. Like it a lot. But it’s so hard to get the last stitch before the cable to look neat. It happens always.
I used short row shaping a lot – on shoulders and sleeve edgings. Really love this technique and I think it’s one of the most useful techniques I’ve learned.
