Yesterday we realized that the cold days will be here soon. Time to check if we have all the woollen accessories we need, since knitting takes time. We made four piles:
1. “throw away” (accidentally felted or broken items)
2. “too small”
3. “don’t want to wear anymore” and
4. “will happily wear”.
Somehow the last pile was the smallest. Most of the hats and mittens were too small. So we made a list.
Today I gathered all the yarn needed on the sofa. Nice pile. Here’s what I need to knit before fall: 3 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of double-double mittens (finally mittens that my kids actually wear), 2 scarfs or neckwarmers, 4-5 hats and maybe 2-3 sweaters. I think I have to start knitting asap. Luckily my first-born knits her sweaters and hats by herself and my younger daughter wanted to knit her hat also.
