The story of Illike-sweater began when I tried to avoid knitting a women’s tunic in stranded pattern. It would’ve looked wonderful but stranded knitting in large amounts and myself just don’t belong together. Because the combination of red and white was just perfect for children, the decision wasn’t hard to make. The concept of this sweater is pretty much the same as in my Pikkuveli-pattern, there are a few fun details – nothing too complicated but there’s still always something new to do, so the knitter doesn’t get bored.

The sweater suits for both girls and boys. I made a swatch using blue and grey tweed yarn (Rowan Felted Tweed DK) and it looked so wonderful. I think I might knit one like this for my son someday.

Sara did a great job modeling the sweater and was very easy to photograph!

Tuo on ihana lasten paita. Olen suunitellut toteuttavani sen siskontytölle jossakin vaiheessa. Tykkään tuosta raidotuksen toteutuksesta yhdistettynä helman kuvioon. Reipasta.
